Description
After Ian Hunter and Mick Ronson departed Mott the Hoople in 1974, the remaining members — Overend Watts, Dale Griffin, and Morgan Fisher — regrouped as Mott, recruiting Ray Major and Nigel Benjamin. This live compilation captures the raw energy and resilience of the reformed band across performances in the UK and US during 1975 and 1976.
The album pulls together standout moments from four venues:
-
Friars Club, Aylesbury (UK) – June 12, 1976
-
Leeds Polytechnic (UK) – November 4, 1976
-
The Forum, Los Angeles (US) – December 5, 1975
-
Agora Ballroom, Cleveland (US) – November 25, 1975
It’s a leaner alternative to the 2-CD Over Here & Over There set, avoiding track duplication and spotlighting the band’s most electrifying live cuts. Ray Major’s guitar work is fierce, and Nigel Benjamin’s vocals bring youthful urgency to the mix. A must-have for collectors who appreciate the transitional fire of Mott’s short-lived but passionate run.
