Released on 20th September 2019, Why Me? Why Not. is Liam Gallagher’s second solo studio album, following the success of As You Were. It’s a swaggering blend of Britpop attitude, rock grit, and emotional introspection, co-written with producers Greg Kurstin and Andrew Wyatt. The album was recorded across iconic studios including Abbey Roadand RAK Studios in London, as well as sessions in Los Angeles.
The title is inspired by two John Lennon artworks Gallagher owns — one titled Why Me? and the other Why Not. — a nod to his Beatles obsession and a reflection of his defiant persona. The album features his son Gene Gallagher on bongos for “One of Us,” adding a personal touch to the record’s legacy.
This release debuted at No. 1 on the UK Albums Chart, earning silver certification in its first week and later going gold. It’s a must-have for fans of Oasis, Britpop collectors, and anyone tracking Gallagher’s solo evolution.
